By Jane Payne What better way to enjoy spring than going to or participating in a flower show and shopping at a plant sale? The Temecula Valley Garden Club is hosting their 34th National Garden Club Standard Flower Show and Plant Sale on Saturday, April 23. The theme for this year is Garden Kaleidoscope, The Exciting World of Color. TVGC is a long-standing, non-profit club and the flower show is a major event they provide to the Temecula Valley as a community service, providing some horticultural fun and gardening education for all ages. The exhibits include horticultural, floral design and youth exhibits. Everyone is welcome to submit an entry. The event is free and open to the public, and the hours are from 9 am to 3 pm. Everything will be held at the Temecula Community Recreation Center, 30875 Rancho Vista Road in Temecula. Temecula Flower Show and Plant Sale Saturday, April 2, 8 am - 1 pm. The Colony's Community Yard Sale is finally here, so get all your hidden treasures ready to sell! This event is for Colony residents and their guests, and you may pick up a guest pass for the yard sale at any time in the Activities Office. Residents who have registered for the yard sale may park on the street Friday, April 1 and Saturday, April 2. Pick up your special Yard Sale Parking pass in the Activities Office. Registration forms are online through eBlast as well as at the Reception desk in March. COLONY YARD SALE Wednesday, April 6. During whale-watching season, mid- December through April, more than 20,000 gray whales migrate along the San Diego coast. Before our whale-watching cruise, we'll stop off in the historic heart of San Diego, known as Old Town. You'll have time to enjoy lunch at one of the many great Mexican restaurants, shop for imports or take a peek at some of the historic sites in Old Town. Cost is $102 per person. Checks are payable to The Colony HOA. The bus will depart The Colony parking lot at 9:30 am and will return at 7 pm. Whale Watching Friday, April 29, 7 pm. Dueling Piano Bar is a high-energy, all-request sing along show that thrives on audience participation. Enjoy the roar of song and laughter as two piano players lead a sing, clap and dance-along right in The Colony Auditorium. The Dueling Pianos have a well-earned reputation for being professional and polished entertainers who never fail to get the crowd cheering and singing! Tickets are $20 per person, payable to The Colony HOA and available in the Activities Office. Doors open at 6:30 pm and the show begins at 7 pm. Saturday, April 9, 10:30 am. This is the event the grandkids have been waiting for all year, so get them down to the Auditorium at 10:30 am for the fun. With more than 1,000 filled eggs, face painting and dancing for the kids, all are sure to enjoy this free event. Adults will, too! There will be refreshments, and we will be showing the movie SING 2 at 12 pm. EASTER EGG HUNT Dueling Piano Bar
