30 | THE COLONY NEWS | APRIL 2022 | CLUB NEWS On April 13 we will be discussing The Sisters of Auschwitz by Roxane Van Iperen. Our club meets in the Meeting Room on the second Wednesday of each month at 10:30 am. If you enjoy reading, we invite you to join us. The Sisters of Auschwitz is a New York Times bestseller and tells the unforgettable story of two unsung heroes of World War II: sisters Janny and Lien Brilleslijper of Amsterdam, who joined the Dutch resistance and created a secret safehouse in the woods. This became an important Jewish hiding place and underground center before they were captured by the Nazis and put on the last train to Auschwitz along with Anne Frank and her family. The book for May is The Little Paris Book Shop by Nina George. Book Club By Joyce Hansen, 951-461-8821 By Virginia Conant By Gloria Carroll The Colony Kennel Club wants to serve as a resource for pet owners to facilitate a safe and peaceful experience as we all cohabit together in our neighborhoods. Apparently, there have been a few incidents of biting, excessive barking and other aberrant behaviors that have caused some alarm. When you bring a pet into your home, you are responsible for the behavior and well-being of your dog or cat. Do not walk away when there is an incident in our community. Do the right thing and make yourself known. If you are having behavioral issues with your pet, we recommend you consult with your pet's veterinarian or trainer. The Kennel Club is planning to have a trainer and animal behaviorist come in for a meeting in the Clubhouse later in the spring. Watch The Colony News for that date. The Colony Players Theater invites you to our annual Meet & Greet scheduled for Wednesday, June 1, from 5 to 7 pm in the Lounge. We will provide snacks and libations! Please join us so you can get to know us, and we get to know you. This is the time to learn about our productions and how you can get involved, either on stage or behind the scenes. No experience is necessary, and we love new faces and fresh ideas. For more information, call Brenda Sindorf (951-698-7097) or Carol Strutt (951-698-0318). Kennel Club Players eater
