4 | THE COLONY NEWS | APRIL 2022 | HOA NEWS Colony News Bits PEST CONTROL FOR THE ASSOCIATION: Nobody wants to share their home with pests. Living with pests can be embarrassing and frustrating. Gophers, rodents and ground squirrels are more than just annoying; they can cause disease and damage your property. The Association does have a pest control vendor that treats certain pests (gophers, rodents and ground squirrels). However, be aware, if your property backs up to the golf course, the Association cannot place a rat, squirrel, or rodent station behind your property (because it is golf course property) or in your backyard. Also, you must contact the office right away to refill station(s) behind your home if you notice any ongoing activity. Animal Pest Management only refills stations upon request. If the pest is inside the house, you as a homeowner, are responsible for maintaining your property and contacting a pest control company. You can contact Elizabeth Pounds from the Property Services Department at (951) 677-4341 or email elizabeth. pounds@associa.us to request a work order. BOARD MEETING: The next meeting will be on Thursday, April 21, at 1 pm. Seating will be available in the Auditorium, and the meeting will be live streamed on YouTube at http://www.thecolonyatcaloakshoa.com/board-meetings. Refreshments for this meeting are sponsored by Senior Referral Specialists. MEET WITH A DIRECTOR: Meet with a Director is on Wednesday, April 13 at 5 pm in the Lounge. Director Amy Horlock will be available for this informal question and answer get-together. If you have any questions or concerns, or just want to stay up to date on what is going on, please come and have your questions answered – or just come and listen. If you would like, bring a glass of wine or your favorite beverage and join one of the Directors every second Wednesday. EBLASTS: Stay informed with the latest HOA communications! To sign up, send an email to kara.hardy@associa.us or call (951) 677-4341. You may also text your email address to COLONYHOMEOWNERS at 22828 to get started.
