28 | THE COLONY NEWS | APRIL 2022 | CLUB NEWS The Colony Cousins Genealogy Club will be having their monthly meeting on Tuesday, April 12, at 1 pm in the Annex. Our speaker will be Mary Ann Mericle, former President of the Colony Cousins and member of our Board for many years. Mary Ann also has been co-leader of the German Research Interest Group for many years. Mary Ann began doing genealogy before there were computers. Back then, many records were obtained through letter writing, library research, etc. Mary Ann will be conducting a "Problem Solving Workshop." Please bring information about the ancestor for whom you are having problems finding records. A form has been sent to all members by email. Please fill out as much as you can and bring it with you. Mary Ann will be giving guidance and suggestions on what you might try. Genealogy By Kathleen Brown, 698-5244 Petal Pushers Garden Club By Gloria Brosky, 714-292-8507 The Colony Garden Tour will be on Saturday, May 14 from 11 am to 3 pm. Do you enjoy sitting in your beautiful backyard enjoying the fruits of your labor? Are you willing to let others give you accolades for all your hard work? We are still looking for a few homeowners who are willing to share their backyards with other Colony residents. We are also in need of a few people to be a greeter at each home. If you would like to be a greeter or help in some other way, please let us know. For those of you who want to visit the homes, plan on being at the Clubhouse at 10:30 am to obtain a map and instructions. If you would like to show off your garden or act as a greeter at the homes, please contact Brenda Sindorf at dancerone@ verizon.net, Gloria Brosky at gabrosky@att.net or Jane Payne at janepayne3@verizon.net. On Wednesday, April 20, the Wine Club will learn all about Kirkland Signature Wines with a wine tasting and appetizers. A Swiss steak dinner will follow. Ticket prices are $20 for members and $25 for member guests. Please call me for ticket availability. Auditorium doors will open at 5 pm and the wine tasting will begin at 5:15 pm. Robert Renzoni Vineyards will be here on Wednesday, May 18, to present their wines along with appetizers. Following the presentation, you will be served an Italian dinner and your choice of a glass of either a red or white Renzoni wine. Tickets will be sold in the Clubhouse Atrium on Monday, May 2, from 10 am to noon. Prices have not been determined at press time. If you have any questions or would like to join The Colony Wine Club, please give me a call. Wine Club By Sharon Evans, 445-3861
