Our group is very excited about the production and hope we will be presenting additional shows for your enjoyment in the future. We're always looking for talented people in The Colony! By Marsha Tobolski, 562-244-9223 The Colony Ukulele Strummers are inviting anyone interested in having fun while learning an easy instrument to join us in the Annex each Friday at 1 pm. We play, we sing, and we laugh a lot. No need to read music and we don't care about how well or badly you sing. Our music ranges from old time folk tunes to pop and rock and roll. In February, we had the fun experience of performing at the Valentine's Day Singles dinner. Come and check us out and sing along with us. We have a hootenanny good time! For more information, please give me a call. Strummers By Judy Moore, 949-468-7375 CLUB NEWS | THE COLONY NEWS | APRIL 2022 | 29 Our featured artist for April is Kathy Sullivan, who has been a Colony resident since 2016. Kathy's last showing of her Metalography was in our Clubhouse lobby in 2021. Since then, Kathy has been traveling and has completed a 10,000-mile trip around the USA in 2021. Her trip to the East Coast shows some of her photographs of the New England states during the Fall Colors. There are also beach scenes as well as landscape photography. Metalography is an art form of photographs placed onto metal. Kathy's photographs are placed onto sheet aluminum. She started photography at Palomar College in the 80s and has displayed her art in Murrieta's City Hall. Out of 40 entries, 25 of her photographs were chosen. In addition, Kathy has also exhibited her artwork at the Del Mar Fair. She belongs to the Inland Empire Photo Club in Temecula. Just this year she photographed some of our local areas for her travel articles for "Sullivan's Travels," which take us far and wide, so do not miss them in The Colony News. The generosity of this artist to share her beautiful hobby with The Colony residents is appreciated by all of us. Thank you, Kathy, and we also look forward to more "Sullivan's Travels."
