Expressing Gratitude
So glad I moved to the Colony, neighbors are caring,
And wonder how others are faring.
They came to my aid when I sold my car,
And take me to the doctor's, no matter how far.
My trash cans are wheeled to the curbside each week,
Are brought up by others, finer friends I couldn't seek.
Some shop for me at the grocery store,
My newspaper is put by the garage door.
Good deeds are performed in countless ways,
Which bring me joy, and lighten my days.
Sometimes they cook, and share yummy food,
My heart is overflowing with gratitude.
