Flautas 2s Day
By Dick Roppé, Resident
Some would say it's like me to find some folly in April Fool's Day.
I thought it might be fun to dig into some movies, books and songs
that had "fool" in their titles. You've probably heard most of these, but
maybe not grouped together.
Let's move on with some movies:
Ship of Fools (1965) Vivian Lee, Lee Marvin; Fool's Gold (2008)
Matthew McConaughey, Kate Hudson; A Fool There Was (1915)
Theda Bara; Nobody's Fool (1994) Paul Newman; The Singing Fool
(1928) Al Jolson.
Are you ready for some books?
Fool Me Once (2006) Fern Michaels; April Fool (2006) William
Deverell; Nobody's Fool (1995) Richard Russo; Fool's Errand (2014)
Robin Hobb; A Fool's Paradise (2008) Robyn Williams.
Now for my favorite… songs:
Fools Fall in Love (1957) The Drifters; as a follow-up, Frankie
Lymon and The Teenagers pose the question, Why Do Fools Fall In
Love (1956); Fools Rush In (1966) Elvis Presley; Chain of Fools
(1968) Aretha Franklin; Ship of Fools (1974) Grateful Dead; Fools
Game (1983) Michael Bolton.
For fun I just called it Fool's Folly.
I said that's a great name by golly.
I'll use a few books,
And some movies for looks.
And some songs that make me feel jolly!
