FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | MAY 2022 47 Your Taste d'Vine Wine Club would like to help you delve into the ABCs of wine. Anything But Chardonnay or Cabernet. Our goal is to always help you widen your choices when shopping for wines. We are searching our local stores to find great wines that are NOT the two most popular wines - Chardonnay and Cabernet. Join us May 19 (we meet the third Thursday of each month) in the Ballroom. Doors open at 5:15 pm with the meeting starting at 6 pm. Please bring a favorite wine to share with your table along with an appetizer such as crackers, cheese, or fruit. Also, please bring two glasses for tasting. The cost is $5 for members and $10 for resident guests. Look for your Bacchus Letter via email for any further information. For info, please contact Gracy Luna at (951) 292-3624. ~ Gracy Luna Taste d'Vine Miei Amici (My Friends) The Italian American Club has planned a bus trip for our members on May 29. There were 56 tickets sold for this excursion to Eataly in the Los Angeles area. This is our first trip, and it looks like it will be a fun-filled day for those who purchased tickets. Our April 14 meeting was a great success. We shared finger foods during our meeting and our club members told stories about their families and growing up Italian. It was very interesting learning about our Italian friends here and the history of their families. Our next meeting will not be on its regularly-scheduled day in May. Instead, we have the bus trip to Eataly previously mentioned, and the second annual Meatball vs. Matzo Ball athletic competition and barbecue. This competition, pitting the highly-skilled and very athletic teams from the Italian American Club and the Jewish Cultural Club, will be on May 22 at 1 pm at The Summit. The games will begin at 1 pm and be followed by a barbecue for the two clubs. The meats will be provided by the two clubs, and the participants are asked to bring food to share in a covered dish. Last year the Meatballs beat the Matzo Balls in a fun-filled competition that we all enjoyed. Please mark your calendar. You do not have to be Italian to join our group and to come to our meetings. Our membership is open to all residents, so put our meeting dates on your calendar and plan to attend. We would love to have you visit with us. To all our Italian American Club members and all residents of Four Seasons, please stay safe and healthy. ~ Barbara Dipoma (805) 377-2616 and Jerry Monahan (951) 212-8898 Italian American Club Trivia Due to the fact that we will be out of town the first Sunday in May, and the second Sunday is Mother's Day, we will resume our Trivia game on Sunday, June 5 at 6:30 pm in the RCN. Prizes awarded to all winners. A price of $1 per person will be charged by the Jewish Cultural Club to cover the cost of prizes. BYOB and any snacks. See you then. ~ Joe Barletta, jmbarletta@hotmail.co
