FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | MAY 2022 55 All Seasons RV With the summer travel season fast approaching, many in the club are making travel plans despite the price of gasoline and diesel fuel being at an all-time high. Future trips for the club include Las Vegas, Bishop, Pismo Beach, and Santee Lakes with additional locations and an extended road trip being discussed as well. New and/or interested members are always welcome to join us at our monthly meetings. We meet at The Lodge on the fourth Thursday of each month at 6:30 pm. ~ Steve Bennett, 4stevesjunk@gmail.com Highlight story: The Soeten's road trip! We left Jan. 4 for Thousand Trails in Palm Desert for one week, then to Black Rock, AZ, just east of Quartzsite, to attend the RV extravaganza. It was fun camping with the Bennetts, Williams, Kenyans, and the Grazianos. We toured the desert with our friends Liz and Roger, full-timers from South Dakota. Then east to Apache Junction where we visited the Ghostfield Gold Town Mine, Tortilla Flats, and the bar with the saddles for chairs. Riding on the Dolly Paddleboat at Canyon Lake was a highlight. Then on to Benson, south of Tuscon, where we enjoyed Tombstone's re-enactment of the OK Corral gunfight. Next trip was Bisbee, where we toured the Copper Queen Mine as the mine train took us 2,900 feet below. Then on to Kartchner Caverns with its incredible stalagmites and crazy rock formations, discovered in 1974 by local cavers. From there we stayed in Yuma Lakes. Finally back home 36 days later. Looking forward to our next adventure! ~ George and Tina Soeten
