Nancy Hunt shared her expertise on planting and caring for succulents and with pictures, explained everything we need to know about creating an outdoor Tapestry Garden with succulents. The Garden Club is gearing up for our bi-annual Sun Lakes Garden Tour to take place June 4 from 10 am to 2 pm. Pat Pennington, (951) 324-9229, is seeking those who would like to show off their yards and gardens. If your backyard has something beautiful, creative, unique, or just plain fun, we'd love to see it. You need not be a member of the Garden Club, and you'll receive a $25 gift certificate to Cherry Valley Nursery as a thank you for sharing your garden. Don't miss out; to show off your garden, you must sign up by May 20. On Wed., May 11, we are all set for the Spring Fashion Show presented by Chico's and a BBQ luncheon. The theme is Country- Western so dress in your snazziest western outfits to get into the spirit of the day (optional). If you have yet to sign up for this festive event, tickets will be available for $20 each in the Main Clubhouse lounge area on April 27 from 3 to 6 pm. Need garden help? The Sun Lakes community enjoys lots of fruit trees but many of us are unable to harvest the fruit. If you have fruit that is in need of picking, the Garden Club has volunteers who will pick your trees or vines and take the produce to our local food assistance centers (H.E.L.P., Carol's Kitchen, etc.).
