Almost every day in May has a special significance by way of a holiday tagged to it. Here is a list of the ones I thought stood out as special and according to Country Living Magazine. May 1: National Lemonade Day/Mother Goose Day May 2: Harry Potter Day/Brother & Sister Day May 3: National Teacher Day May 4: Star Wars Day May 5: Cinco De Mayo May 6: National Space Day/Nurses Day May 7: National Fitness Day/Free Comic Book Day May 8: Mother's Day/Coconut Creme Pie Day/Have A Coke Day May 9: Women's Check-Up Day May 10: National Shrimp Day May11: National Twilight Zone Day There were many more dates listed including Memorial Day which is on Mon., May 30 this year. May is also a great month to celebrate the music and songs we love best. You can do that when you join Rosie Ingalls, Barb Miller and D.J. Blast for Sun Lakes Goodtimes Karaoke. You can, dance, sing, eat, make new friends or just listen to the many singers who attend these shows. This month's Karaoke will be on Fri., May 27 in the South Clubhouse starting at about 5:30 or 6 pm depending on the availability of the room. If you have any questions regarding our Goodtimes Karaoke shows call Rosie Ingalls at (951) 769-2645. We look forward to seeing everyone and as usual we will keep a warm disinfected mic on for you. We thank you for supporting our karaoke events. P.S. A great big thank you once again to our set-up monitor, (Michael) for his tireless professional work in setting up the Clubhouse for our events. 30 | SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | MAY 2022 | Sun Lakes Follies Let the fun begin! Looking forward to seeing last year's Follies Show "Rat Pack" Robin Ward, Monica Weyent and President, Joanne Graham, come up with something new and funny for our 2022 Follies Show "Hollywood Palace" to take place on Sept. 30, Oct. 1 and Oct. 2 at the Main Clubhouse. Have you been working on your "Act?" Are you a comedian? Singer? Dancer? Do you play an instrument? Let us know what your talent is or what you would like it to be. Karaoke Group Chorale The Sun Lakes Chorale just presented its Spring Concert series, "Rhythms of Spring," to very appreciative audiences. We're now on a well-deserved hiatus until Mon., Sept. 12. We're planning a few social events in the ensuing months, and we enthusiastically welcome any Sun Lakes residents to join us. Watch for new information in Lifestyles. The Chorale is divided into five sections: Sopranos, Altos, Tenors, Basses, and Baritones. Our practice sessions are held on Mondays from 9:30 am to 12:15 pm.
