32 | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | MAY 2022 | Golf Club From the President - Tom Moore: Geez, is it May already?! What happened to April? Summer is just around the corner, and that means no more frost delays or "cart path only" days. It's time to put away the thermal underwear, earmuffs, mittens, heavy jackets, and hand warmers and dust off the golf sandals, shorts, fans, water misters, and ice packs. This is the time of year when we trade frost bite for bug bites. May is a good time to celebrate all that we love about our little community, but May also brings us Memorial Day, so please take a moment to look up to the cross on the hill to our North-East and remember those golf club friends that are no longer with us. One more thing: The Mushallo family wishes to thank everyone who made donations for the John Mushallo funeral procession escort. Your donations were given to the American Legion Post 53 Riders and The Patriot Guard Organization. Special thanks to Cecil Frazier, Kelly Collier, Chuck Farr, and Henry Negrete for their assistance in making it possible. From the Secretary - Irene Becker: Many of us were festively dressed and our carts were decorated to honor St. Patrick's Day in March. Of "course," green was the color to match the "greens" we played. Check out the photos of the happenings from that day. From the Tournament Chair – Elliot Yaeger: Here is the May schedule. Our start time is 7:30 am for the spring and summer months: May 3 at 7:30 am -Team: One, Two, Three Best Net Scores May 10 at 7:30 am - Individual: Throw Out 3 Holes: ONE Par 5, ONE Par 4, and ONE Par3 May 17 at 7:30 am - Memorial Competition – Eclectic Rd. 1 May 24 at 7:30 am - Memorial Competition – Eclectic Rd. 2 May 31 at 7:30 am - Partners: Best Net Score per Hole Mollie Smith and Meredith "O'Becker" Bonnie Moore Bob Vargo Golf Cart Club No flag postings in April; the Flag Angels get a little rest in March/ April and most of May. The Flag Angels will put out flags along World Cup and Four Seasons and each home for Memorial Day. Another bit of sad news: two more angels just have hung up their wings. Sharon and Kelly Collier, who did the Stephenson cul de sacs route, must give up their route. Thanks Sharon and Kelly for years of outstanding service. You will be missed! I hope to get a replacement in time for Memorial Day. Cheryl Newberry has graciously stepped forward and will take over Maggie and Bob Fussell's route starting with Memorial Day. If you want to help with this popular and valuable service, please call me at (951) 973-4149) or email me at mikemcla43@aol.com. ~ Mike McLaughlin
