"Having fun – Being Positive – Staying energized – Giving Back to the community!" That's our motto and your Four Seasons Women's Group follows it to a T! Hello Four Seasons sisters and welcome to May 2022. We meet the fourth Monday of each month in the ballroom at 2 pm. Mark your calendars so you won't miss a meeting. President Debbie Foster is always available to answer questions about our group. Keep her number handy (805)-406-6581 for any information needed. We were delighted to have Kathy Harvill from The Assistance League join us as a speaker. They are open at this time Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 10 am to 2 pm. Dollar day sales are the last Friday of each month. They are located 180 N. Girard Street. Check them out. In March, Javier Lopez gave us a tour of the Valley Restart shelter. I must admit we were "wide eyed" touring the stark rooms. Four Seasons has a generous side that we cannot turn off. Immediately we wanted to buy paint, bedspreads, toys, etc. but we need to follow their direction. They do not want you to just drop things off. Naturally we came up with an answer. Sheryl Cooley volunteered to be our liaison, directly with Mr. Lopez, which will provide us with their current needs. Following our Valley Restart tour, we drove to Emilio's and had a wonderful lunch together filled with laughter. We had a lovely afternoon in March attending "Play with Your Food." The play was called the "Hot Spot." Two very funny women bought a Beauty Salon that had one problem after another. It was very slap stick and satirical. There were 17 members who attended and the only problem I heard was the "chicken is dry"! April events included carpooling to Palm Desert Street Fair. What I cannot wait for is the miniature horse sanctuary in April. It is just out our back gate! We heard a baby donkey was just born. I will be first in line for petting. Patsy Racine had another game involving passing eggs. NOT REAL (lol)! It was like musical chairs. Prizes were awarded. We also had a raffle drawing. Members of our club can join us on our outings. To be a member you pay your yearly dues and come to our monthly meetings when possible. We extend our invitation to come and laugh with us. We truly are FS sisters. Hope to see you next month. ~ Cookie The Four Seasons Vintage Voices will present a Memorial Day Concert on Sun., May 29 at 5 pm in The Lodge Ballroom.
