HOA STAFF PROFILE
Cindy Irving, Receptionist
By Joanne Deacon
Got a question? Who ya gonna call? In The Colony, that's Cindy
Irving, our receptionist extraordinaire. She is the first point of
contact by phone or as you enter the Clubhouse. She will answer
the question or get you to the right department – always with a
smile!
In Cindy's words…
I started working at The Colony on Feb. 12, 2018, as the Clubhouse
Receptionist. Aside from answering a high volume of phone calls
every day from residents, potential buyers, and Realtors, my
primary duties also include registering new residents, answering
general questions, and directing visitors. In addition, I help with
data entry, preparation for New Homeowner Orientations and
other administrative duties. One good thing about working at the
Receptionist Desk is that time flies very fast and there are no dull
and boring moments, especially with our residents who always
greet me at the desk and tell a funny joke to brighten my day. I
love to hear our residents talk about their life stories that bring
memories of their younger years.
As for my interests, I like to watch fashion blogs (I'm kind of a
shopaholic, lol!), enjoy going to the beach and cooking. In 2014,
I traveled 7,000 miles from my home country of the Philippines
to California to marry my fiancé. I met my husband John in the
Philippines 10 years before. We were married in Lake Tahoe.
I became a United States citizen in February 2019. I am very
grateful that The Colony residents, along with my colleagues in
the HOA and the Board of Directors, have been a big part of my
journey to my path to U.S. citizenship. After leaving my home
country and being away from relatives and close friends in the
Philippines, the residents in The Colony have always been like a
family to me, always making me feel that I am not far from home
and have treated me like part of their family.
