20 | OHCC LIVING | JUNE 2022 | The year is progressing right along, Memorial Day is past, and summer begins on the 21st of June. Thanks to all of our Water Volleyball Resident vs. Staff Tournament players! We had a wonderfully wet afternoon, the competition was fierce, the enthusiasm superb, and the staff survived a stealth performance exhibited by our resident competitors. With that introduction, we are reminded of the following pool rules for the 2022 summer season: • Shower before entering the pool and spa. • Outside shower is for "rinse only" and to limit one's showering when others are waiting. • No bandages or skin lesions are permitted. • Guests must be accompanied by a resident. • Children's Hours are: weekdays 11am to 2 pm; weekends and holidays 11 am to 3 pm. Children from 5 to 14 years can swim during this time. Children are not allowed in the spa if they are under 14. • Pool noodles, kickboards, and devices for exercise purposes are allowed. No other floating objects or toys are permitted. • Food or beverages are not permitted, other than water in non-breakable containers. Bring your picnic to the Palm Court. • Persons in bathing attire and robes must access the pool area through the outdoor pool entrances(s). Bathing attire and robes may be worn to and from the Locker Rooms only. *The Association will not be responsible for personal belongings left at the pool area and in the locker rooms. Swim with a smile, be courteous, and share the lanes! The Health and Safety Fair will be held this month on Sat., June 4 from 9 am to 1 pm. There have been a number of vendors contacted and we wish to say how much we appreciate everyone's contribution, support, and attendance for this event. The SERT Club Volunteers, along with the Recreation Department, hope this will be informative and educational for all participants. The Transportation Shuttle Service is offering a trip to the Del Mar Fair, Wed., June 15. The sign ups began Mon., May 16. A flyer was placed in the information racks at the Clubhouse. The announcement for sign-ups was made at the May Master Board meeting. A 21-passenger shuttle will provide service to and from. We are requiring a deposit to hold the reservation, to be refunded once boarding the shuttle. Come to the front desk to make a reservation. The July Fourth Poolside Dinner Dance Americana-style BBQ tickets are on sale for $45 per person. We are looking forward to bringing this summer evening activity back to the membership. For those that are new to OHCC, we are giving you fair warning that attendees come dressed for this dazzling occasion. For years, we had Uncle Sam join us, top hat and all. Prizes will be awarded to the winners of our costume contest. A flyer is found within this publication. We can't forget to mention a Happy Father's Day to all fathers, stepdads, grandfathers, godfathers, foster dads, and pet fathers, enjoy the day doing whatever "floats your boat." You deserve it! A happy and healthy summer to you. Let the fun begin! A Lost and Found Notice: We are trying to locate someone that may have left a hearing aid kit in a bag, here in the Clubhouse. The items are personal in nature, and costly, and we would like to locate the rightful owner. Please come to the Clubhouse to identify. Recreation News By Chris Bessey, Recreation Director
