June 10: Last chance to sign up for microchipping
In order to provide microchipping for pets on July 30, I need at
least 15 people to get their pets microchipped. I currently have only
five. If you need your pet microchipped, please send me an email
(ohccpetloversclub@cox.net) to put you on the list.
MORE EVENTS ON JULY 30
• Rabies vaccinations will be available for a low cost by Ranch
House Veterinary Services
• FREE Licensing: The city of Oceanside requires that all dogs be
current on rabies vaccinations and licensed through the Humane
Society. The OHCC follows those guidelines to require the same
for all resident dogs. There is normally a fee for licensing within
a short window after current vaccination, and a hefty fine for not
being licensed, or for filing late. Any dog turned in to the SDHS
requires owners to pay the fine before releasing the dog.
Ellen has achieved something extraordinary. She has persuaded
the SDH to waive all licensing fees and fines for any currently
vaccinated dog. So if your dog had a three-year rabies vaccine two
years ago and you didn't get it licensed, you can get the license for
FREE this one time. You need to bring proof of vaccination with you.
If your dog needs a vaccination, do it that day and then walk over to
get the license at no cost.
Real live dogs, ready for adoption, will be onsite for you to meet
that day.
Protect them from heat: When the black pavement in our
community is too hot for you to walk barefoot, it's too hot for your
dog's feet and it's too hot to leave your dog in the car.
