FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | JUNE 2022 29 Finance Committee Last month, Claudia Rozzi presented an excellent case for all owner-residents to become active in the operation of our community. This month we are making a special request for you to consider joining the Finance Committee. Since last month, we have lost three members; Claudia has stepped down after five years of service to spend more time with her grandchildren and travel, David Sweet has been elected to the Board of Directors, and Peter Shuttleworth resigned. You do not need a background in accounting or finance to serve on this committee. In fact, your different experience will bring new insight to the work we perform which is to advise the Board on the Financial operations of the HOA. Please join us at our next meeting, Tuesday, June 28, at 1 pm, to see what we do. During the Finance Committee's regular monthly meeting held April 26, the financial statement for March 2022 was reviewed and recommended for Board approval. In addition, the Committee reviewed four expenditure proposals, and made four investment recommendations to move maturing investments to higher yield FDIC insured instruments. Highlights of the February financial statement are: Total Cash is $11,346,881 including operating cash of $2,128,770 (checking and CDs) and reserve assets of $9,218,111. We are at a total year-to-date net income of $143,075. Homeowners are welcome to join us at the Finance Committee's regularly scheduled monthly meetings held on the last Tuesday of each month. Our next meeting will be Tuesday, June 28 at 1 pm. Please check your Daily Report for meeting location. Come and join us in making this a thriving vibrant community. ~ Boyd Barlett blbarlett@gmail.com Facilities Committee At our last meeting, we approved new seats for the Theater. Enhancements and safety features were approved by the committee for the new shuffleboard area. The painting project is underway with several locations painted and other areas continuing throughout the month. The Facilities Committee tries very hard to accomplish projects in a timely manner. However, in today's environment, it has become increasingly difficult to meet these goals. Staff works hard to get bids for projects from vendors but vendors are slow to respond, if at all. We will continue to strive to accomplish projects in a timely manner. Your patience is appreciated. The Facilities Committee meets the second Wednesday of the month at 9 am in the RCN Conference Room. We are always looking for community members to join our committee. ~ Gino Domico, Gdomico@gmail.com
