26 FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | JUNE 2022 Landscape Committee Have you walked (or driven) up the hill to the end of Plymouth Rock? When you do, you'll come to a small white fence that marks the boundary of the developed area of Four Seasons, Beaumont. As you look over the undeveloped land, you'll see open areas with trees scattered about. The fence does not mark the extent of community land. Extending out about 100 feet is an area that contrasts mightily with the way the other community land looks and the wilderness beyond it. At least one of the residents whose lot borders the south end of the community has remarked how unkempt this land is. This is intentional. We call this area of the community "the fuel mod," short for fuel modification area. The point of this land is to serve as a barrier to incursion of a wildfire that might originate in the hills south of us. Planting in this area is restricted to native, drought tolerant plants, and Park West, our landscape contractor, maintains this restriction. The community also has the ability to pump water into the area in the event that it's ever needed. The fuel mod is only one of the many portions of the community that we observe on an ongoing, periodic basis. If the idea of learning more about our terrain appeals to you, why not join us for one of our Friday walks? These walks typically take one to two hours and will give you a chance to get the blood going and meet residents of our community. Kat Hughes will be able to give you more info when you contact her. ~ Kirk Freyermuth, kafreyer@frontier.com We hope that everyone who attended the Liza and Judy show enjoyed the presentation. Our next event is The Fashion Show on June 4. The theme is "Pretty in Pink." Our clothing vendors are Chico's and White House Black Market. We have about 16 models and they are all going to be so beautiful. Centerpieces will be given away and prizes awarded for the best walk. We will also have four large baskets to raffle off so bring extra cash for our fundraiser for our next show. We will have a photo booth and pictures are free — get there early so you can have pictures taken. Doors open at 11 am and lunch will be served at 11:30 am. Ticket price is $35. We have a few tickets left; come and get them at The Lodge Lobby. I can't wait to see all of you there. ~ Loretta Ramsey, (714) 803-6744, lorettaramsey@aol.com Social Committee
