By Kara Lukasik The Recreation Department staff has been busy getting ready for the summer season and it makes us happy to see more and more members joining in the good times. As the summer progresses, we'll have various activities, events, and entertainment planned to make this summer the best one yet! Bring your friends to a fun exercise class, express yourselves in an art class, or stop by one of the ice cream socials. Truly, the Recreation Department events and programs are the best ways to make long-lasting and rewarding friendships. Join in on activities, trips, and socials and you will find that the possibilities are endless! With all the fun planned, please keep in mind that in accordance with the Rules and Regulations, all guests must be accompanied by a resident while participating in any Association activity. Whether it is at the outdoor pool or in the Lounge, a guest must always have a resident with them. This ensures that the guest is in fact a guest of a resident. Following this rule as well as all others is essential to ensure all residents have a pleasant experience here at Sun Lakes. It saddens me to say that Robin Sick, our fitness guru, is moving out of the Banning area. She and her family have moved to Arkansas, and she will no longer be able to provide fitness instruction at the North and South Clubhouses here in Sun Lakes. We are in the process of finding another instructor and will announce the details as soon as they become available. Everyone in the Recreation Department wishes Robin and her family the best as they journey on to this next phase of life. From the Recreation Director | SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | JUNE 2022 | 19 ICE CREAM SOCIAL Mon., June 13 , 2 pm, Sandwedge; $3 per person. It has been a pleasure being the Medical Exercise Specialist/Advanced Personal Trainer at Sun Lakes. These last 11 years have been the best ever and I'm honored to have served you in this capacity. Many of you have come in for free orientations, others for one-on-one personal training. I've seen many of you reach your goals and improve your health through your nutrition and exercise program. My love for Veterans also runs deep as I am a military spouse. That's why I started the Veteran Walk nine years ago — to give back to those in need who are Veterans. I've learned an enormous amount through each of you and cherished each moment that grew into some beautiful friendships of inspiration. It's time to start a new chapter as my husband retires and we make our move to Bentonville/Rogers, Arkansas. I will always remember each of you. You've blessed me so much and I will dearly miss you. If you are ever traveling our way, stop and visit! I'm reminded of a saying by John Maxwell, "People don't care how much you know until they know how much you care." With much love and care, Robin Sick Robin Sick Says Goodbye
