| SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | JUNE 2022 | 3 The Sun Lakes Country Club community is all of us working together. We need your help in accomplishing our goals. The new Board is focused upon more input from the District Delegates, committees and all of our residents. We are now recruiting volunteers for a permanent Financial Advisory Committee, a Contract Committee, an Ad-Hoc Committee considering board expansion, and a Landscaping Sub-Committee. With the implementation of these committees, we anticipate better oversight of our contracts, finances, landscaping, and overall decision-making process. The new Board has changed the time for the open sessions to 3 pm from 6:30 pm. This decision was made to increase attendance and make it more convenient for our residents. Almost all other HOAs have their Open Board Meetings in the afternoon rather than in the evening. We are expanding programming on Channel 97 to keep the residents better informed of our activities and events. The Welcome Home Program will now be held every other month in the Sandwedge. Our Main Clubhouse pool opened on May 5 with an outstanding Cinco de Mayo celebration. The pool monitors at both the Main and North Clubhouse pools will be our own, on-staff monitors. We will no longer be utilizing the Securitas staff at the pools. This will be a net savings of approximately $50,000 annually. The annual Charity Week fundraising events will be taking place from June 6 through June 12. This is our major fundraiser for the Pass Area and has always been a huge success; please come and participate. Our food and beverage department has expanded the Sandwedge hours to Tuesday through Saturday from 7 am to 3 pm. The Lounge has added Tuesday evenings from 3 to 8 pm. Under the leadership of Thomas and Chef Chris we are retaining staff and increasing hours of operation for the enjoyment of our entire community. Upon the recommendations of Joe Formino, District Delegate Chairperson, we have begun recording and broadcasting a new segment for Channel 97 and Good Day Sun Lakes. We are calling the segment "News from the Board." We will be sharing news and views from different Board members on a regular basis. The primary roles of the HOA Board of Directors are to: maintain and enhance the common areas as well as our property values; ensure fair and consistent enforcement of our governing documents; and oversee the budget and finances in a fiduciary manner. We have many exceptionally talented residents here and with their assistance and input we may be able to accomplish these goals. The volunteer interest forms are available in the Main Clubhouse; please complete and return to administration as soon as possible. There will be an interview and selection process and with your help, we plan to have these new committees operational in June. A collaborative effort from all of us — the Board, the District Delegates, the committees, FirstService Residential and all of our residents — is what we need to maintain and enhance our beautiful community. "Alone we can do so little, together we can do so much." ~ Helen Keller From the Master Board Want to get your voice heard? Go to a listening session! They are held the first Monday of the month at 3:30 pm in the Sandwedge.
