14 SOLERA DIAMOND VALLEY | JUNE 2022 Oscar Brewing Company "OBC" in Temecula By Moy Allen, Resident What I love about this restaurant: it sits up high and is in an open, airy location with a view. The pricing is mid-range and the menu has a good variety of choices from meat, fish and vegan. It is a brewery as well as a full bar, with many options for setting small and large groups. The service overall was very good. I enjoyed the Carnitas taco, though the blackened fish taco is my favorite. You can even enjoy a walk around the duck pond, which is right next to the restaurant after your meal. https://oscarsbrewingcompany.com/temecula-92591-pond-oscar-s-brewing-company-food- menu/ Resident Restaurant Reviews Recently the committee has been asked to resume reviewing local restaurants. We decided it would be great if we tossed this to the community for input. We sent out an alert blast asking residents to submit reviews on local-ish restaurants. Happily, we have had a number of responses so without further ado we present Resident Restaurant Reviews! By Rod and April Lewis, Residents We have visited this small diner several times and we recommend it for lunch and breakfast. The ambiance is of a 3-star establishment, the facility is clean and tidy. Seating inside is adequate with several comfy booths and high-rise tables. The chef and his waitress/order taker wife own this quaint diner. You walk up to the counter and place your order with the cashier and the order is brought to your table when ready. They offer a 10% discount to seniors and they offer a punch card with a free burger and fries after five to six punches. The food we have found to be tasty, well-seasoned and plentiful. They specialize in burgers and they are delicious with thousand island, tomatoes, lettuce, pickles, red onion, cheese and a large sesame seed bun. They have different topping also to choose from. Their breakfast entrees are varied with shredded hash browns, three eggs of your choice and various meats and proteins. Their omelets are tasty but made on a griddle instead of a sauté pan resulting in crispy brown and overcooked edges. The taste and freshness are good but if you like a softer omelet I would stay away from this entrée! Their salads are huge with many choices from tostadas to chef type salads, nicely garnished and many choices of dressings. Their salsa is fantastic, tomato base with a mild spiciness. If you like salsa, just request some as well as spicy yellow chilis. Highlights of this diner for me would be the burgers, sandwiches, eggs and bacon/sausage, tostada, salads and decently priced soft drinks. The diner is closed on Sundays and opens at 8 am daily. They are located at 475 West Stetson just before State in the same center as Juan's Pollo Rotisserie Chicken. Burger Rush
