FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | JULY 2022 29 Finance Committee I have had the opportunity to serve our community for over five years on the Finance Committee and the Board. I am the new chair of the Finance Committee, and I am sure some wonder why I continue to serve. I love our great development and it is gratifying to share my knowledge. I encourage all residents to become more familiar with the finances of our fantastic community. We would love to hear about your concerns and encourage you to share them with us. Attending a meeting only takes a little time and will give you a better understanding of how we operate. We would love to see you at one of our meetings. We are always looking for new members to join us. You do not need a background in accounting or finance to serve on this committee. In fact, your unique experience will bring new insight to the work we perform, which is to advise the Board on the Financial operations of the HOA. During the Finance Committee's regular monthly meeting held in May, the financial statements for April 2022 were reviewed and recommended for Board approval. In addition, the Committee reviewed four expenditure proposals, and reviewed investment recommendations to move maturing investments to higher yield FDIC insured instruments. Highlights of the April financial statement are: Total Cash is $11,442,041 including operating cash of $2,170,223 (checking and CDs) and reserve assets of $9,271,818. We are at a total year-to-date net income of $194,290. Homeowners are welcome to join us at the Finance Committee's regularly scheduled monthly meetings held on the last Tuesday of each month. Our next meeting will be Tuesday, July 26 at 1 pm. Please check your Daily Report for meeting location. Come and join us in making this a thriving vibrant community. ~ Jolene Cooley joleneaudit@gmail.com Facilities Committee Social Committee At our last meeting, our Secretary Howard Lyon announced that he will be stepping down. The committee would like to thank Howard for all his time and effort. He will be missed. We discussed a proposal to purchase a maintenance cart for staff. New bids were requested for one specific model. A proposal to purchase a new ping-pong table was discussed and approved. This will replace a damaged table. We discussed replacement of the Game Room chairs and issued a request for bids. The shuffleboard periphery project is ongoing as is the painting project. The Facilities Committee meets the second Wednesday of the month at 9 am in the RCN Conference Room. We are always looking for community members to join our committee. ~ Gino Domico, Gdomico@gmail.com We will be off July and August, but will be back in September for an exciting show. "One Voice" stars multi-talented voice impressionist Bethany Owen from Las Vegas. Tickets go on sale Aug. 15 at 9 in the Ballroom and are $25 per person. The event is Sept. 24. This woman is amazing! Don't miss this show. ~ Loretta Ramsey, (714) 803-6744, lorettaramsey@aol.com Landscape Committee As we walk and/or drive through our community, we see the extensive landscaping and some may wonder how it's maintained. It starts with the Landscaping Committee… but also with you. For example, if you see an issue with landscaping, please go to the Daily Report and click on Landscape issue and let us know your issue. A representative from FirstService Residential will contact you. You can also attend a Landscaping Committee meeting on the third Tuesday of the month at 1 pm at the RCN and share the issue with us. Please understand that the Landscape Committee is doing its best within a budget set by the Board to help maintain and improve the aesthetics of our community. As the matter of water restrictions looms, we will be having on- going landscaping challenges now and in the future. For example, grass and plants looking brown or dying because lack of water. Please be patient and understand our limitations at this time. We are doing our best to complete projects once they are approved, working with the schedule of our landscaping company, Park West. If you are looking for a meaningful way to get involved in our beautiful community, please consider joining us on one of our Friday walks or attend our monthly meeting on the third Tuesday of each month at 1 pm in the RCN. ~ Albert Padilla, aaapeejay@gmail. com
