The Pass Action Group in continuing the fight to stop the Banning
Point Warehouse project. The local communities have help with this
fight and is appreciated. In this issue of Lifestyles, you will find a flyer
explaining our fight and information for support this battle.
We held a Town Hall in June to share information with the
communities regarding our lawsuit against the city of Banning and
the developers.
On June 1, a Mandatory Settlement Conference was held with all
parties represented. At the time of this publication all information
discussed is confidential and details cannot disclosed.
On June 20 is a scheduled conference with the assigned Judge of
the Superior Court. At this time, the Honorable Judge Craig Riemer is
assigned to our case.
California State Assembly bill AB2840 was discussed. This bill will
require a 1,000-foot buffer zone between warehouses and residences.
It has passed the Assembly and will now go to the State Senate for
approval. Although this project was approved before this bill, if the
current approval is rescinded for Banning Point the bill could affect
an attempt at a new approval.
There were some questions from member of the audience regarding
our case. It was explained that we are continuing to seek for the Judge
to rule for us and rescind approval for the project.
Questions came from audience members regarding funds to
continue forward. It was explained that all bills are currently paid,
and we are continuing to raise fund to continue this important fight.
We would like to thank all supporters for donations and support.
