| LIFE IN SOLERA | JULY 2022 | 19 In June, over 85 members enjoyed our Bocce Tournament and Picnic event. With 42 players, the competition was fierce. This was a free event for our members and our "Grill Masters" out-did themselves preparing delicious burgers and hot dogs plus the sides to go with them. Our July event will be a Sunday Champagne Brunch. Caterer, Tony Directo will be providing a delicious assortment of food for our members to enjoy along with the "bubbly." We anticipate that this will be a sell-out event. In August, we will be having a wine-tasting event. Sean of Gerrard's Market in Redlands will be providing a variety of wines for tasting during the evening. Information about upcoming Solera Sippers events, membership guidelines, and application are available at the Solera Sippers web page on the Solera Oak Valley Greens website. You can access the web page by going to the "Recreation" heading and then under "Clubs and Groups." Wine Trivia: The most widely planted grape in the world is Cabernet Sauvignon, with more than 700,000 acres worldwide. For information about the Solera Sippers, please contact Gary Stoh at (951) 845-1981 or via email at garymstoh@aol.com. This is a weekly group made up of generally men but women are always welcome. Our focus is on conversation and friendship. We meet every Wednesday in the Clubhouse between 8 and 9 am in the Arts & Crafts Room. It is typically a group of 10 to 20 people. The group is led by a facilitator who ensures that everyone will have the opportunity to talk and encourages conversation. We have very interesting and diverse conversations. There are countless benefits you'll enjoy by joining this group and they can vary from person to person. For more information about The Coffee Group, please contact George Vawter at (909) 253-3318 or via email hbwisenheimer1@ yahoo.com. Come and check us out and feel free to bring your favorite coffee mug! SOLERA SIPPERS COFFEE GROUP BON APPETIT CLUB Our food-focused and fun-loving club had a great time at our June event when Jan, "The Gadget Gal" from Kitchen Kitchen, visited to demo the latest in unique kitchen gadgets and cookware. We also enjoyed a food demo and tasting from Chef Anthony who prepared empanadas, chips, and salsa. Members enjoyed shopping at the end of this meeting. Our July meeting has been changed from July 1 to July 8 due to the Fourth of July holiday weekend. We will be having an Ice Cream Social. In addition to that, Lane Joel will demonstrate the Yonanas Vegan Non-Dairy Frozen Fruit Soft Serve Dessert Maker. There will be a $2 charge for this event. It will be collected at check-in. Our Aug. 5 meeting will have the owner of Lot22 Olive Oil Company (Zach Thorp) talk about the processing of olive oil, food pairing, health benefits, and tasting. Our members will be able to purchase olive oils and vinegars at the end of the meeting. We continue to welcome new members and would love to have you join us. First time guests are always free and the more the merrier! If you have any questions, feel free to contact Louise Sesto at (951) 267-3847. All the best from Bon Appetit.
