After a two-year absence because of the pandemic, the Kennel Club is pleased to announce the reappearance of its annual Pups and Carts Parade on Saturday, July 2, at 5 pm. This year our parade will be bigger and better than ever! We have invited decorated vintage cars to participate, and our Grand Marshals will be the Temecula Cowgirls Parade & Drill Team, followed by our Honorary Grand Marshal, Colony resident Georgia Morrow. We are giving several great prizes. The full list of awards is as follows: KENNEL CLUB AWARD - best- dressed dog LYMAN BEECHER AWARD - best cart GRAND MARSHAL AWARD - best dog and cart AMERICANA AWARD - best expression of the theme RAINBOW AWARD - most colorful OUT OF THE BOX AWARD - most unusual HAL PERRY AWARD - best decorated old car SAMBUCA AWARD - best organized and exciting neighborhood watch party (a first!) Please restrain your excitable dogs for two reasons: One, so they don't scare the horses, and two, so that the horses don't scare the dogs! For those of you who may be concerned about the debris that the horses might leave on our streets, the good news is that the Cowgirls are coming with their own cleanup crew and following immediately behind them in the parade, so whatever mess is created will be rapidly cleaned up, leaving our streets fresh. Be sure to watch this exciting event with your neighbors as the Pups and Carts Parade winds through the streets of The Colony!
