20 20 | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | JULY 2022 | | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | JULY 2022 | Greetings fans! We were so thrilled to reunite with our beloved Four Seasons audience in June with An Evening of Laughter and Romance. It has been far too long. Our next Herald issue will feature a few highlights of this totally fun production, the success of which is thanks to an amazing collection of passionate and creative talent spanning all levels of experience (from NONE to LOTS!). But first and foremost, to our beloved audience, thank YOU for all the love and support you extended to our Four Seasons community theatre! We can't wait to see you again in October for our spectacular fall musical. Until then, we do so enjoy sharing stories about our richly diverse, warm, and fun Club members. This month, we'd like to feature the amazingly talented Ashfords, Caroline and Graham. If you haven't already experienced their talents first-hand in various community events, you are missing out. Here's just a glimpse into their background… so without further ado, please join us in marveling at their awesomeness! Graham and Caroline grew up in England but didn't meet until 1985 at an English pub in Santa Monica. Graham initially worked in the automotive service/parts for Rolls Royce and Jaguar. He also became a professional musician, as lead singer with a number of bands, recording some songs he wrote and an album of Beatles songs (the first "Tribute" Album) for Decca called "15 Great Songs by John, Paul and George." He also toured with many famous American artists and bands in the UK. In 1968, Graham decided to emigrate to America to join his mother. After working in the automotive industry in New England and California, he moved to California in 1974 to run the service and parts operation for Rolls Royce in Beverly Hills. Also, he made a recording for DOT records called For Ever and a Day, which sold five copies. In 1988, Graham joined Nikon as national parts manager; he had done some professional photography in the past and was a big fan of Nikon cameras. In 1990, he and his wife Caroline relocated to Edmonds, Washington. Subsequently, Caroline retired from her job in banking and they opened an art gallery specializing in custom framing, which is when Graham began his professional painting career. In 1998, the Ashfords semi-retired to the north shore of Kauai which provided inspiration in the way of subject matter and Graham broadened his scope to include acrylic, oil, and pastels. Caroline worked in the vacation rental field and Graham did professional photography jobs for the real estate industry. He also sang with various bands and learned Hawaiian music while Caroline learned and performed Hula. For family reasons, the Ashfords returned to the mainland in 2003, residing in Temecula and, ultimately, moving into Four Seasons in 2019. Throughout the years, Graham has continued singing and writing songs. While in Edmonds, he sang at some local festivities and in Temecula, was part of the opening act for a Hawaiian artist at the Temecula Theater in Old Town, with Caroline performing Hula (pictured above). On visits to Kauai , they join a local band at the Tahiti Nui in Hanalei. Perhaps you have experienced Graham's performance here at a Four Seasons event – Casino Night, Buffet dinner with Karaoke, a TGIF dinner or a house party. Club meetings are held the third Friday of each month at 1 pm in the Ballroom. Your interest and inquiries are always welcome. Please call Victoria Tarabochia at (951) 473-3235. Four Seasons Players
