The Bocce Club had their BBQ last month with a pretty good
turnout; we had a few guests and plenty of food. The month of July
will also be a busy month and the last month for our players to play
for this year. July 3 will be the last scheduled game unless you have
a bye. July 10 is the scheduled Championship Games and all teams
will have a chance to play. We hope all teams will participate. Who
knows? You could take second or first place for this year. On July 24
will be the Bocce Banquet with a spaghetti dinner to celebrate our
Bocce Team Winners. The awards are modest since we don't hand
out a pot of gold but we do take your picture for the Hemet Herald and
you get a picture of your team to take home. The cash prize is small
but you can take it to your favorite restaurant. You also have bragging
rights — now that goes a long way. We had close to 80 players this
year, a much smaller group than usual; we would like to have 100
players for next year. I'm counting on our players to pass the word
to your neighbors for next year. Thanks for your sportsmanship and
patience; many of us were a little rusty being off for a few years. ~
