FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | AUGUST 2022 45 Country Line Dancing You are all welcome to come to our FREE Line Dance Party on Aug. 27 in the Ballroom. Doors open at 4:30 pm for a social hour. Dancing will be from 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm. Bring your own food and favorite beverage. You will have a foot tapping good time. The first two weeks of August will only have Beginner and Intermediate dance classes. Starting the third Tuesday, the Advanced class will be added for the rest of the month. My foot surgery was postponed a month, so I am not sure when I can start a new Very Beginner Class. I have five to seven people wanting to join. I will post a notice in the Activities Blast as soon as I know a start date. Or call me leaving your number and I will contact you with the date. I owe you all an explanation of my classes. I teach a Very Beginner class about twice a year for people who know nothing about line dancing. This class is 30 minutes long and usually lasts about 16 weeks. In it, you learn one or two dances a week. Each dance covers some basic steps. With each succeeding dance, you build on those steps and new steps are added. When you finish those classes, it is easy for most people to move into the Beginner class, in which you learn both more of the easier dances and additional steps. I usually do not accept new students once a class has started. The reason for this is that it is not fair to the others to continually go back to the very beginning each time a new student joins a class. I hope this makes sense to you. ~ Martha Franck, marthafranck@icloud.com, (714) 345-8588 Let's Dance! Dancing makes you smarter! Why is dancing better than other activities for improving mental capabilities? Because dancing utilizes both the mind and the body. Dancing requires split-second rapid fire decision making, as opposed to rote memory which is the memory of repetition. Come join us in the Ballroom on Monday nights at 6 pm for practice and 6:30 pm for lessons which are taught by an accredited and certified professional. The most important element is to have fun while learning, this helps one to not only enjoy what they are doing, but to recall it easier. Every month is a different dance! August is a time to Country Western Dance! Ready to Two Step? We will also be learning various country dances. Our dance group is excited to dance some of the many dances we have learned through out the year at our summer dance "Tropical Breeze" being held in the Ballroom on Aug. 6. Hope to see you there! Questions? Please contact either Sue Condurachi (951)381-4049 or Brian Fusilier (909)215-2778. ~ Lisa Johnson
