10 | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | AUGUST 2022 | In June, we witnessed a tribute concert to Elvis. It was a rocking experience that included an evolution of Elvis from his recorded rock songs to memorable ballads sung during his movie career and the Las Vegas venues. We heard the full spectrum from Hound Dog and Jailhouse Rock to the tenors of In the Ghetto. It was a warm but enjoyable evening for all residents in attendance. The year's Fourth of July celebration was a magnificent affair of Americana as we celebrated the birthday of our nation. Russ Brown, as always, did a wonderful job as emcee presenting the Sheriff 's Mounted Posse, and the musical medley presentation of each military branch of service whose colors were proudly marched by Four Seasons military veterans. The presentation was heartfelt, gripping, and memorable of who we honor, what we are so proud to be. Thank you to our veteran residents who participated in this service. The Fourth of July celebration could not have taken place without the numerous volunteers who help decorate the plaza and dedicated hours to make this celebration a meaningful experience. Speaking of volunteers, we would like to highlight a husband/wife team who is the "Master Yoda" in building the association stage that pop up at many of The Lodge events from the Ballroom New Year's Eve Party to the Four Seasons Players to the headline bands on the Four Seasons Plaza. While there is a crew of stage builders, it is Roy Brennon and his wife, Karen, that are the mentors and glue that keep the stage volunteers focused and task oriented. Our many thanks to Roy and Karen. The August event returns for an encore of a few years ago, Hollywood Revisited: A Music Revue. The Revue is a celebration of music and costuming that made Hollywood the glamor of our time. Tickets are already on sale so get them as soon as possible. Upcoming in September is the transformation of the Four Seasons Plaza to a tropical setting as the Ohana: A Hawaiian Luau will take place on Sept. 24. Ohana means family and community, we encourage participation from our residents. Many of you may have had at one time the hidden desire to swivel your hips and sway to the island music. Here is your opportunity, a hula contest for both men and women. Also, there will be a contest to make the perfect Mai Tai that should rival Trader Vic's original rum concoction. Enjoy a feast of roast pig, teriyaki chicken and plated sides, and be entertained by professional hula dancers and fire dancers. Pull out your favorite aloha shirt and sarong wrap and join your neighbors in a fun-filled Hawaiian evening. Social Committee Facilities Committee What makes Four Seasons of Hemet an exceptional adult community? • A caring and discerning Board of Directors • A productive and progressive management team • A group of volunteer residents with a passion to make a difference Every resident has the opportunity to enhance our unique environment by supporting the decisions made by our Board of Directors and by participating as a committee member. The purpose of the Facilities Committee is to create, implement and maintain a Facility Maintenance Program that will progressively improve our community. Our objective is to monitor the need for maintenance, repairs and upgrades to the common areas and facilities. We also review cost options, contracts, and make recommendations to the Board of Directors. The Facilities Committee meets twice a month on Wednesday at 9 am. Listed below are some highlights for discussion on the meeting agenda: • Homeowner Input – Residents wanting to address the committee with concerns • Report on the monthly maintenance inspection performed by committee members • Report by management on work orders and project tracking • Progress report on ongoing projects and unfinished business • New business items • Long-term projects • Recommendations to the Board of Directors In addition to participating in the meetings, teams of two members perform a specified maintenance inspection twice a year. Once a year, each member has the privilege to compose the monthly Facilities Committee Newsletter featured in the Four Seasons Hemet Herald Magazine. If you would like to consider serving on any of the Committees, please feel free to talk with any member. The listing of current committee members can be found on the last page of the Four Seasons Hemet Herald Magazine. You can also request a Committee Volunteer Application Form from the front desk at The Lodge.
