| Four Seasons Hemet Herald | AUGUST 2022 | 31 Since this article is one month behind actual events for the Bocce Club, I cannot report who won for this year, so you will have to wait for next month when officially, the Bocce Club is done for this year. I can tell you that the weather has changed from mild to a much hotter day for outside activities. Being younger does have its advantages, seems we are more tolerant if the day heats up. Not so much for us now, but our players made the challenge and showed up to compete come rain or shine, more of the shine than rain, and we will have a first and second place winner to show off in the next article. They did not win a pot of gold, but the bragging rights are always fun to rub in to all the other teams that turned out and did their best. It's always not if you won or lost, but how you played the game thru the season. We had some questions from the players on which rule is correct and which one is not, but to be fair, I always let the team captain help make the decision before they get the Chairperson involved, or a player who has been with the club for many years. Either way one of the teams may end up with a decision not favorable to them and it can seem to be unfair but, it happens to the best of players or teams. At Four Seasons, we have something different than professional teams or players, we know our neighbors. This can be difficult, but as I have told many of you, remember you are playing with friends and neighbors, be fair and courteous, you can't take back your words or a friendship if you says something with anger. Thank goodness we avoided those situations, we do have the best neighbors and friends that we enjoy being with. Hope next year that will continue and the Bocce Club can bring in more of our residents that have become part of our retirement adventure. Thanks for being the best players and the best friends.
