| THE COLONY NEWS | AUGUST 2022 | 45 Actors Studio Players eater By Gloria Carroll Here we are in the middle of another long hot summer; regardless, our group is hard at work planning our next production for 2023. It seems like a long time away, but it will be upon us before we know it! We are keeping our new show, our second production, a "mystery" for the time being as we are only in the beginning stages of the process. We welcome any and all of you to our workshops, which are held on the second and fourth Thursday of each month from 3 to 5 pm in the Annex. Whether you might be interested in acting, directing, publicity, poster, program or ticket design, ticket sales, behind the stage assistance, or technical positions such as lighting, sound or curtain handling, we certainly would love for you to join us. But most of all, we have lots of laughs and fun at our workshops. So, get your creative juices going and don't be shy about attending a workshop to see what we're all about. I don't think you will be disappointed! If you have any questions, please feel free to call me, Chuck Gordon (661) 714-3847, Greg Hill (951) 526-9896 or Dona Wurzel (760) 519-6475. Lights! Camera! Action! The Colony Theater Group is hard at work rehearsing for our Saturday, Oct. 22 and Sunday, Oct. 23 production of The Colony's Got Talent II, Remember When. We have singers, dancers, jokesters, storytellers, skits galore and so much more. We are a quick sellout every year, so mark your calendar! Ticket sales information will be in the September issue of The Colony News. If you are interested in working backstage or assisting out front, please give Brenda Sindorf (951-698-7097) or Carol Strutt (951-698-0318) a call. By Marsha Tobolski, 562-244-9223 Sunday, Aug. 7, 4 to 7 pm in the Clubhouse Lounge Attention Colony residents new and old! Do you love to sing? Do you want to know more about the Colony Chorus? Then come and mingle with current and past Chorus members and our musical staff, enjoy some wine and snacks and see what Chorus is all about as we get ready to start our fall season. We are fortunate to have an exceptional director, Lorilee Bajema, a fantastic pianist, Lynda Salina, and an outstanding drummer, rockin' Rick Rahn. Our Board of Directors and chairpersons work together with the musical staff to put together two wonderful concerts each year. And, thanks to Lorilee's teaching, we have learned to sing better, understand the dynamics of music and, more importantly, have more fun! If you love to sing, please consider joining the Chorus and take this opportunity to get to know our staff and members. If you have any questions, please call our president, Connie O'Brien at 951-696-1796.
