| THE COLONY NEWS | AUGUST 2022 | 47 The Colony campers and glampers who joined us on our Yosemite National Park trip this past June had a great time! It all began with a caravan of RVs, touring the sights, hiking the trails, fishing the streams, experiencing drastic climate changes, seeing some wild animals, hearing stories from experienced Half Dome and El Capitan rock climbers, appreciating the powerful and amazing waterfalls, riding bicycles, and just relaxing. The theme for this trip was Hawaiian, so naturally the men wore their Hawaiian shirts and the women wore their Hawaiian skirts and dresses, and everyone enjoyed the catered luau dinner. The evening's entertainment was provided by the RV Club's impromptu lady hula dancers led by Bea Brown and a trio of ukulele players led by Richard Brown. The group had a sing-along and were accompanied by Richard Brown's ukulele trio. Other nights' social gatherings at the campground had games of "meet and greet," Left Right Center and Shut the Box, and sharing personal stories around the campfires. I would like to give special thanks to Laurie Freres, Lisa Schrader, Sharon Smith, Bea and Richard Brown, Mike and Dana VanScoy and so many others for their time and contributions in making this trip so much fun and so enjoyable. Our next trip is scheduled for Sept. 12 to Sept. 16 at Sequoia National Park. If you would like more information about joining the RV Club and the trip, please contact Leo Alonzo at the above number, Karen Alonzo (714-458-3957) or Nancy Adam (760-954-6515). You do not need an RV to join. Roadrunners RV Club By Leo Alonzo, 714-473-9969
