As with all Jack and Jill events you DO NOT have to be a member of either the Men's or Women's Golf Clubs to play. Just pick up your sticks and join us for the fun and friendly competition. See ya on the links! By Dennis Murphy, 461-0457 By Judy Lebovitz, 461-0065 The heat is on! It's been difficult playing in this very hot weather, and it started early this year. We are currently preparing for our Annual Charity Tournament. Unfortunately, due to Covid, we had to postpone it last year, but hopefully we will have it this year. The tournament is scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 5, and all monies collected will be donated to Hospice of the Valleys and Michelle's Place. We will have a Scramble format and hope to have guests attend as well. Placards honoring or in memory of someone will be on the tee boxes for an additional donation. We invite representatives from Hospice and Michelle's Place to attend the luncheon, and it is always a very memorable experience. If you are interested in joining us for this special event or wish to donate, more information will be in the next issue of The Colony News. We have a very active 18-hole golf club with different tournament formats each week in addition to a 9-hole group. We just acquired two new members for the 9-hole group and one new member for the 18-hole group. If you are interested in learning more about our club, please feel free to contact me at the above number or our Membership Chair, Peggy Clendenen at 951-696-2169. Let's all keep well and safe, especially during this heat. I hope to see you on the links!
