We had a great time helping kick off celebration of the 4th! Special thanks go to our judges Don Dooley, Mavis Akiyoshi and Jo Hart. We are pleased to announce the winners of the awards, as follows: • KENNEL CLUB AWARD… for the best dressed dog: Marianne Kashima. She also won the RAINBOW AWARD for the most colorful cart. • LYMAN BEECHER AWARD… best decorated cart: Sylvia Maxwell. • GRAND MARSHALL AWARD… best dog and cart: Judy Fleming. • AMERICANA AWARD… best expression of theme: Linda Ortega. • OUT OF THE BOX AWARD… most unusual: Scott Daniels for his restored dirigible cart. • HAL PERRY AWARD… best decorated old car: Carol Hitchcock for her 1957 T Bird. • SAMBUCA AWARD…. best spectator party: Linda Hopkins and her friends and neighbors at 40129 Via Marisa! Each of our award winners received a gift card donated by PetSmart, a ribbon and a certificate. For those of you who did not participate, get ready for next year. It'll be a blast! Kennel Club By Greg Hill New Clogging classes begin Tuesday, Sept. 6, from 4:30 to 6 pm in the Auditorium. Beginner's class is from 4:30 to 5:15 pm and Intermediates from 5:15 to 6 pm. The first class is FREE, so you can try before you buy. After that, it is $5 per class with a great instructor. All you need are soft leather-bottomed shoes. Clogging is a FUN way to exercise your body and brain. Studies show that dancing is a major tool in the fight against Alzheimer's and dementia.
