| LIFE IN SOLERA | AUGUST 2022 | 23 As I reported in the July Life in Solera, our June Bocce and Social event was a great success. I want to congratulate the winners of the event, Mike and Ana Kuzara. Their skill in eliminating all of the competitors earned them the coveted prize of bottles of wine. Well done! Our July Sunday Champagne Brunch had to be postponed due to an unfortunate incident with our caterer, Tony Directo. We wish Tony a speedy recovery and look forward to enjoying his excellent food at this popular event in October. This month we will be having a wine tasting event. Sean of Gerrard's Market in Redlands will be providing a variety of wines for tasting during the evening. Information about upcoming Solera Sippers events, membership guidelines, and application are available at the Solera Sippers web page on the Solera Oak Valley Greens website. You can access the web page by going to the "Recreation" heading and then under "Clubs and Groups." Wine Trivia: The biggest wine bottle is called the Nebuchadnezzar and holds 15 liters of wine. That's the equivalent of 20 regular bottles in a single huge bottle. For questions about the Solera Sippers, please contact Gary Stoh at (951) 845-1981 or via email at garymstoh@aol.com. This is a weekly group made up of generally men but women are always welcome. Our focus is on conversation and friendship. We meet every Wednesday in the Clubhouse between 8 and 9 am in the Arts & Crafts Room. It is typically a group of 10 to 20 people. The group is led by a facilitator who ensures that everyone will have the opportunity to talk and encourages conversation. We have very interesting and diverse conversations. There are countless benefits you'll enjoy by joining this group and they can vary from person to person. For more information about The Coffee Group, please contact George Vawter at (909) 253-3318 or via email hbwisenheimer1@ yahoo.com. Come and check us out and feel free to bring your favorite coffee mug!
