6 | LIFE IN SOLERA | AUGUST 2022 | August is here and there is so much to do. There are 45 Clubs and Groups, besides other activities you can do on your own. The schedules and contact information is in the Life in Solera magazine, as well as, in the Welcome Book. There is an activity with you in mind, so look at the list and join the fun. If you are a resident homeowner, there are also Standing Committees: Design Review, Finance, and Nomination. Then there are Advisory Committees: Communications and Technology, Recreation Activities, New Resident Welcome, and Common Area Landscape. These Advisory Committees do have openings occasionally. If you are interested in joining one of these committees, you are invited to complete a Volunteer Interest form and turn it in at the office. They will keep your interest form on file for two years. When there is an opening, the forms for that particular committee are given to the Chairperson, who will then schedule interviews to fill the opening. Are you someone who has a passion for getting involved in your community? Have you thought about running for the Board of Directors? This year there were two openings for a term of two years. Next year there will be three openings for a term of two years. It is not too early to start thinking about running. There will be a deadline for deciding to run, which I believe will be in January or February. Watch for the notice. Enjoy the summer and enjoy the activities planned for everyone. Check this and every issue for the list of activities. Thank you to our ambassadors for everything they do in making our new residents feel welcomed to our community. ~ Marcia Casem, Chairperson, New Resident Welcome Advisory Committee Welcome Committee Contractors who work on your project… • are not permitted to consume or have possession of any alcoholic beverage or narcotic. • can not solicit business. • are responsible for disposing of their own excess materials and waste.
