| SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | AUGUST 2022 | 21 The Inland Sound Chorus and the Inland Empire Chorus, two local acapella harmony groups, will present a concert of familiar songs in the Sun Lakes Ballroom on Sun., Aug. 21 at 3 pm. Since 2012, the Sun Lakes Chorale has sponsored this exceptional summer afternoon musical presentation. Mark your calendars now for this wonderful event. Open theater seating tickets are $10 per person, and will go on sale in the Main Clubhouse lobby starting Mon., Aug. 8, and will be available Monday through Friday from 9:30 am until 2:30 pm until Fri., Aug. 19. Tickets will also be available at the door. Inland Sound Chorus and Inland Empire Chorus Don't Miss this ACAPELLA CONCERt It was a beautiful sight to see the numerous golf carts all tricked out for the special day. I want to thank everyone who participated in the Parade – we had 53 carts/floats registered and 25 classic cars – I know it was a major undertaking to plan and execute your plans for the "vehicles" thank you for helping to make the day a special one. I also want to thank Sheila James for giving of her time to sing the National Anthem and the VFW post 233 for the presentation of colors at the opening ceremonies. The winners of the awards went to: Michelle Carter – Most Creative "Bill Mock Award" Pam Glatt - 1st Place Float Chuck & Tena Creager – 2nd Place Float Kaleb Ranney – 3rd Place Float Rich Morales – 1st Place Golf Cart Rick Vargas - 2nd Place Golf Cart Anita Taylor – 3rd Place Golf Cart I can't forget to thank our judges, Bob Walter and Lori Hazelton (members of our Master Board) and Patricia Elevi. They had the unenviable task of selecting this year's winners - thank you for a beautiful job. Sun Lakes Fourth of July Winners Sun., Sept. 18 in the Main Clubhouse Ballroom at 2 pm, $15 pp. Join us as we welcome the Laguna Jazz. The "Big Band" is a traditional 18-piece Jazz Band – five saxophones, four to five trombones, four trumpets, piano, bass guitar drum-set, and aux percussionist. The Jazz groups perform for many different functions in the town of Laguna Beach and the surrounding areas. Their music covers a wide range of styles including swing, Latin, blues and pop styles as well as vocal jazz. It will be an afternoon to remember. Tickets are on sale now!
