It's a Small World

In May, my husband Bill and I traveled to Paris,
France to explore the City of Lights before
taking a river trip to Normandy and back on the
Seine River. On our last evening in Paris, before
boarding our ship, we returned to L'Artoise, a
restaurant around the corner from our hotel,
for dinner. We were seated on the sidewalk at a
table for two. Shortly after our arrival, two ladies
were seated at the table next to ours. I overheard
them talking and said "Oh, you're Americans,"
and a conversation ensued among the four of us.
The lady seated next to me asked where we were
from. Bill replied, "We're from a small town in
Southern California called Banning." With that,
the lady seated next to Bill reacted as a strange
look came over her face. I asked, "What is it?" and
she replied, "I live at Four Seasons in Beaumont!"
We were just absolutely incredulous that we had
traveled thousands of miles from our homes and
met each other at a restaurant in Paris, France.
