| SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | AUGUST 2022 | 15 Sun Lakes Committee Reports Safety Advisory There have been several thefts lately on the north and east side of the Sun Lakes North side. A guy was chased pushing a wheel barrel full of things taken from houses. They have cut the fences in several places. We ask you to please keep your doors locked both during the day and night. The RV lot was broken into again and both Banning PD and Securitas will be patrolling these areas more. If you see any intruders, please call 911 first and then Securitas. Securitas is calling people again about open garage doors between 8 pm and midnight. Repeat offenders will be referred to Planning and Compliance. With the recent thefts you should be concerned. ~ Bill Bess, (951) 769-8022 The Restaurant & Lounge Advisory Committee is comprised of volunteer residents with varied skill sets and business backgrounds. Together we research, collaborate, and brainstorm. Our focus is always on making SLCC more enjoyable for all of us while enhancing revenue to "our own" Restaurant & Lounge. I keep repeating it and we are happy with the opinions we continue to receive; your comments are always welcome. Good or bad, let us know your thoughts and opinions. We can't help if we don't know. Fill out our new comment cards, place it in the secure "locked" mailbox at the front desk and/or talk to one of us directly, we consider it our obligation and privilege to address all your Restaurant & Lounge concerns to our advisory committee. We are hopeful that our POS (Point of Sale) system will be up and running by the time you read this article. It's been a long arduous process but ultimately will make our sales tracking and accountability so much easier for all of our staff, committees, and our Master Board. As you enjoy our fine dining Restaurant, Lounge, Sandwedge, and Veranda, you may have and will continue to notice our gradual enhancements, several new Restaurant & Lounge team members in all areas including the Veranda and pool, happiness at having our Sandwedge open, our beautiful new menus, your comment cards, new plants, lighting, table décor, and music. Do we have an official bakery pastry chef? No, what we do have is someone that has a passion for and enjoys baking delectable, delicious treats just for us. Try something new, I bet you'll like it. We are proud to say our Restaurant & Lounge has been increasingly busy. Gina Den Hollander can be seen dancing back and forth from Restaurant to Lounge and sometimes the Sandwedge. Gina is the always smiling upbeat server you see at different times, working all these areas. Gina has an effervescence about her that is contagious. It makes you just want to smile with her. A little bit about our bubbly Gina - she and her twin brother were raised in Yucaipa. Gina loves dancing, whether with her husband, her six-year-old son, or scootin' from table to table here at SLCC, Gina loves her family, her work (13 years), collecting Gentle Giants (Giraffes), or rooting for the Green Bay Packers. So glad to welcome Gina back. SLCC Reservations: (951) 769 6654. Get yours in early for both lunch and dinner. Don't forget to try our spectacular brunch. Mark your calendars for the last Sunday of the month. It's still "HOT, HOT, HOT! but there's still lots you can do to stay Kool and keep cool… enjoy spending time with friends on the Veranda, check out our new Happy Hour menu, and remember you can now enjoy service at the pool. Now, just a little September nostalgia, "I used to love September, but now it just rhymes with remember." Sept. 11 will always be marked as the day of the biggest tragedy in America. We will never forget and will always honor this date. ~ Carole Elliott Restaurant & Lounge Advisory It's summer time and very warm out there… so how about spending your Tuesday evenings with your Bingo friends and neighbors in the cool of the Ballroom here in Sun Lakes.
