16 | SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | AUGUST 2022 | Marketing & Communications Advisory The Marketing and Communications Advisory Committee has been busily working on informational videos that will be given to new residents. These videos will help guide them through logging onto the Sun Lakes website, signing up for eBlasts, using Dwelling to authorize visitors to enter through the gates, revealing the many amenities we have at Sun Lakes, and introducing them to the staff that are here to assist them. These videos will be given to them on a thumb drive in the Welcome Home bag they receive when they attend the Welcome Home get together in the Sandwedge. The MCAC has devoted much time to keeping you informed via the Good Day Sun Lakes Facebook page, along with the crawl and videos on Channel 97. Hernan has been updating the website daily. During the last large power outage, we were able to keep those who had access to Facebook through their smartphones aware of the status of the power outage, when the power might be restored, and when the generator was available in the Bus Room for those who needed power for their medical devices. MCAC will continue assisting EPAP with their communications needs. Sun Lakes Committee Reports Recreation Advisory It's time to go to the Main Clubhouse lobby and pick up those volunteer sign up sheets. I am a little swayed as I would like you to sign up for the Recreation Advisory Committee. There will be six vacancies coming up at the end of this 2022 year. It is a fun committee and you will love to be involved in all the activities that are generated by the RAC. It is an interesting committee as well. As part of our charter, we recommend approval or denial of applications for potential new clubs and groups. Once it is decided it is an acceptable group or club, a letter is submitted to the Master Board for their consideration. This committee consists of up to 11 members. The terms of Committee members will be staggered two-year terms. August or September is a good time to submit your volunteer request to be a member of the RAC. Interviews will be conducted during the month of October. Candidates for all open positions will be selected for recommendation to the Master Board. Important qualifications are motivation, attitude, communication skills and the ability to set priorities and team compatibility. The RAC meets the first Wednesday of the month at 2 pm. And that's it. Come join the Recreation Advisory Committee. Your new ideas and thoughts are welcome. ~ Patricia Elevi, (951) 850-3900
