Garden Club
Here we are in the middle of the Dog Days of
Summer. Hopefully you took advantage of the
cooler days of spring to plant your gardens and
are now enjoying the fruits of your labor. If you
didn't have quite as bountiful harvests as you
would have liked, you might enjoy the August
Garden Club speaker, Marsha Cook. Marsha is a
San Diego Master Gardener, who will speak on "13
Ways of Attracting Pollinators to Our Gardens."
We will learn how to turn our gardens into a
pollinator paradise, and benefit with more fruits,
vegetables and flowers. Learning to garden with
pollen attracting plants and practices is a win for
the environment and OHCC.
Make sure to mark your calendars for our
annual plant sale, happening during the OHCC flea
market on Sept. 17. There will be a great selection
of new pots, yard art and planted pots. Come by
and find something special for your garden.
All residents and guests are invited to attend
the Garden Club meetings. The doors open at 9:30
am for coffee, goodies and socializing, followed by
our speaker at 10 am.
