| LIFE IN SOLERA | SEPTEMBER 2022 | 19 This is a weekly group made up of generally men, but women are always welcome. Our focus is on conversation and friendship. We meet every Wednesday in the Clubhouse between 8 and 9 am in the Arts & Crafts Room. It is typically a group of 10 to 20 people. The group is led by a facilitator who ensures that everyone will have the opportunity to talk and encourages conversation. We have very interesting and diverse conversations. There are countless benefits you'll enjoy by joining this group, and they can vary from person to person. Come and check us out, and feel free to bring your favorite coffee mug! COFFEE GROUP BON APPETIT CLUB As you are aware, our Oakmont Rooms are closed due to a major flooring issue. Management is working with the contractor and flooring manufacturer to rectify this unfortunate situation. We have had to cancel our July and August meetings. Our September meeting is pending. More information to follow. At our Oct. 7 meeting, Zach Thorp from Lot22 Olive Oil Co. will be with us to demonstrate a variety of olive oils, balsamic vinegars and provide some taste testing. We will keep you informed as the date gets closer. In September, emails will be sent to all members looking for volunteers for Bon Appetit Board positions for 2023. This will include President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer. Anyone wishing to run for a board position, please notify Louise Sesto at (951) 267-3770 or email her at louisesesto@gmail.com. An additional email will be sent to members because we are planning on updating our by-laws. The by-law amendments and membership dues may be amended by a 2/3 of the membership present at our annual meeting. Our annual meeting will be held in November at such place and date as may be determined by the Board. There will be a December Holiday Luncheon. It will be held at Yucaipa Valley Golf Club on Dec. 2 from 12 to 3 pm. We will be selling tickets at our Oct. 7 meeting. Spouses or a significant other are invited. The price of each ticket will be $37 per member. When you purchase your tickets, you will select one out of three entrees. Looking forward to a big turnout. The August event, "Substitute Picnic," was an example of creative thinking that allowed us to have a fun, casual event utilizing the outdoor patio area of the clubhouse. On Sept. 17, our event will be a "Wine Tasting." Shawn from Gerrards Market in Redlands will be providing a variety of wines for tasting. Members will also be able to place orders for any of the wines that they enjoyed during the evening. In October, our event will be a "Sunday Brunch." This event is certain to be something special, so watch for more information and plan to sign up early.
