12 | SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | SEPTEMBER 2022 | Expressing Gratitude I am grateful for Mary Miller, District 5 Delegate, and her husband David. When I called them to help me with my WiFi and how to use my mobile phone, they came to my home and answered all my questions. They were so kind and patient. Being 92 years old, I don't understand all this internet suff. 30 years in Sun Lakes, the slogan has been "It's the people." This is still true - Sun Lakes is great place to call home. ~ Shirley Paszinski I'm grateful to all the wonderful ladies who saw me fall at the Main Clubhouse pool and helped me. They also called 911 and I am forever grateful. ~ Elizabeth Glover A special thank you to Barbara Searcy for the years of dedication and commitment to the Bereavement Group. You have been an inspiration to many of us. We wish you well. ~ From your friends in the Bereavement Group I am grateful for Nadine who works here at Sun Lakes. She is so helpful and friendly. Please keep her! ~ Anonymous My wife and I would like to extend our foremost gratitude to Linda Myers-Kalb, a resident and registered nurse for 54 year and associated with the American Red Cross since 1969. Linda has been donating her time since 2019, providing classes for the "First Aid Training for Sun Lakes Residents" as noted in the Lifestyles Magazine. She provides six- hour sessions several times each month in Sun Lakes and doesn't charge for her services. Ellie and I attended this class in July and were overwhelmed by what we learned and believe this class should be mandatory for everyone. The class far exceeded our expectations in that we learned how to IDENTIFY and CARE for medical issues, such as infections, diseases, excessive bleeding, choking, cardiac arrest, strokes, heart attacks, applying splints and dressings, and so much more. We feel that after completing this six-hour class we could be qualified to save lives if such an unfortunate event should occur in our presence. If you are interested in attending one of her classes, and you should be, Linda has already scheduled classes for August, September, and October. Contact Linda at (951) 529-9087. ~ Ron Kington I wish to express my gratitude to the residents who are supporting my Recycle Project. I am collecting all items with the CA CRV inscription on them and turning the recyclables into a recycling center to generate income for the fight against the warehouse construction. I will continue this Recycle Project until the end. If you would like to contribute your personal recyclables or your clubs' recyclables, just drop them off at my house or call me and I will pick them up. Leave the caps on the bottles and include any wine or beer bottles that are glass. ~ Dorrie Gartzke, 6029 Spanish Trail Cove, (909) 562-9226, dorriegartzke@gmail.com. Thank you! The celebration for those turning 80 this year, planned and executed by Karen Daniels, was lovely. I'm grateful to Karen Daniels for her thoughtfulness. ~ Lucie Ramsey
