12 | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | SEPTEMBER 2022 | Access Control Committee The Access Control Committee (ACC) meets the second Wednesday of each month at 9 am in The Lodge Conference Room. It is our responsibility in vetting the performance of our security company when requested by the Board. Other issues we are tasked with are the operations of the gate and gate arms at both World Cup and Four Seasons entrances. We are currently addressing our Post Orders which is a written document as to what is expected from our contracted security firm. We continue to research options to speeding in the community. There is no easy answer and whatever the solution will be, we understand that not all residents will agree. Our goal here is to make our community safer for everyone who calls Four Seasons their home. ~ Rick Adkins, Chair, Access Control Committee Now is the time to start thinking about the annual California Great Shake Out event that will be occurring in October. This exercise is a reminder for all residents to think about and prepare for a major Earthquake in Southern California. For more information go to https://www.shakeout.org/california/ index.html The picture above is from FEMA showing road damage caused by the M7.1 Searle Valley earthquake a few years ago. As we all know, we here in Four Seasons are only a short distance from the San Jacinto Fault system, which mostly parallels Gilman Springs Road and is southern California's most active fault system. For our residents' peace of mind, Four Seasons CERT members have newly printed ID cards so that during a CERT incident residents can distinguish Four Seasons Hemet CERT ID/SC members. The next Street Captain exercise on Sept. 26 covers the Door Knock pass, which is different from the Windshield pass (a simple look for the red sign). The Door Knock pass has complexity involving preliminary categorizing of the issues that occur during an Emergency or Disaster affecting Four Seasons and its residents. Be prepared and have a plan. And don't forget to go to the link fscert.org/pwrdependant/ for residents to register their power/oxygen dependency and to find out their Street Captain contact information. Our Mission: Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Program is designed to increase individual and community preparedness and self-reliance in the event of man-made or natural disasters. The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has officially recognized CERT as an important part of a community's disaster preparedness and readiness. Four Seasons CERT continues to need your participation. Become a Street Captain or CERT Auxiliary. Step up. Be a part of the best CERT in the valley; come make a difference. For more information visit https://fscert.org/cert-volunteer Learn how to prepare at fscert.org. Plan. Prepare. Survive. You can help yourself. Emergency Preparedness
