KARA'S KORNER | THE COLONY NEWS | SEPTEMBER 2022 | 21 Saturday, Sept. 24, Time TBA It's time to celebrate! Join us as we celebrate the return of that something special we have here in The Colony. And all of it is FREE! We can all likely relate to how frustrating it can be in finding the ideal work-life balance. It makes sense that with all the "goings on" around The Colony, building community and promoting socialization have not been a top priority. Social media sites like Twitter and Facebook make socializing without having to be face-to-face much easier. More recently, of course, there's been COVID. But now, let's build community and promote socialization! It might not seem like a huge deal, but think about the benefits of neighbors getting to know one another and those on the Board or who are part of our Committees and Clubs. Developing relationships will increase happiness and decrease the chances of frustrations with our neighbors. Residents will want to continue promoting personal camaraderie within our community. For our evening of celebration, we'll begin in the Auditorium where there will be opportunities to meet residents from some of our many Clubs and Committees and explore what makes The Colony one of the most active 55+ communities. Each group will be represented in a booth format so that you can learn all about what each has to offer firsthand. Considering starting a new club or group but not sure if it would draw enough interest? This would be the perfect opportunity to see who may have similar interests. As we continue through the Lounge and out to poolside, our colorful tropical evening will include authentic Polynesian entertainment (complete with Hula, Tahitian and fire dancers and interactive audience participation), appetizers, and music and dancing under the stars. If you have any questions, please contact Holley Graham at 951-377-3240. A Colony Luau COSTUME CONTEST! TRICKS AND TREATS FOR ALL!
