28 | THE COLONY NEWS | SEPTEMBER 2022 |
The monthly meeting for The Colony Cousins Genealogy Club will be on Tuesday, Sept.
13, at 1 pm in the Annex. Our speaker will be Sara Cochran, aka "The Skeleton Whisperer."
She has spoken to us several times and is an excellent presenter. Her topic will be "DNA 101
for Beginners." Sara will also address some issues for those who are non-beginners.
Sara is a professional genealogist and an alumni of the Salt Lake Institute for Genealogy.
She belongs to several professional organizations and speaks on a variety of genealogical
topics. We are fortunate to have her back this month. You may go to her website https://
theskeletonwhisperer.com for more information about Sara.
Visitors are always welcome to come and join our club. We ask that members and visitors
sign in at 12:45 pm so that we may start promptly. For more information, please call acting
President Lennie Martin at (503) 269-9987.

The Colony Ukulele Strummers are inviting anyone interested
in having fun while learning an easy instrument to join us each
Friday at 1 pm in the Annex. We play, we sing (or try to) and we
laugh a lot. No need to read music, and we don't care about how
well or badly you sing. Our music ranges from old time folk tunes
to pop and rock and roll. Come and check us out and sing along
with us. For more information, call me at the above number.
