HOA NEWS | THE COLONY NEWS | SEPTEMBER 2022 | 3
From a Director
By Glenn Sailer
By the time you will have the opportunity to read this issue, a lot of things will have
happened. First, you will have had the opportunity to listen to, watch interviews and
determine which candidates you believe will serve our community in the best interest
of the residents of the 1,586 homes located here in The Colony. I believe our choices
are good, and you will too if you consider their backgrounds, education and what they
currently do for or have done for the community. Second, we will be looking forward
to a resolution to the purchase of the golf course dirt in the near future. There are so
many residents who have spent so many hours trying to stay a step ahead of whatever
the outcome of this purchase may be! I am pleased to have chaired the Golf Course
Management Selection Committee. This committee has been comprised of a most
qualified team of residents who have the knowledge and skills to develop a request
for proposal (RFP) to satisfy the needs of our community. Recently, I was asked why
I chose not to run again for the Board. It's simple. It is time for the younger residents
to take over; they have innovative ideas, and we should face it, it's their community
now. My old ideas don't always coincide, and I know the younger group will make good
decisions.
At this time, I would like to thank so many residents and committee volunteers who
I have been blessed to have served with during my many years here. I am so thankful
that our lives have crossed in a manner that will always warm my heart.
