| THE COLONY NEWS | SEPTEMBER 2022 | 35 Actors Studio Players eater By Gloria Carroll September is finally here, and with it summer vacations are over, the grandkids are back to school, and soon fall will bring the changing colors of the leaves on the trees. So, what do we have to do to keep busy? Oh, yes, I remember — we want to join in on the fun of being part of the Actors Studio! Our small group is working hard preparing for our second production, which is now scheduled for Saturday, Feb.11, and Sunday, Feb.12, 2023. Does that weekend ring a bell? It's the weekend just prior to Valentine's Day! What better way to treat your special Valentine (or yourself ) to an entertaining evening of surprises! In order to accomplish this, we need all hands on deck. No experience is required — it's just a chance to do something different and fun. To begin, we encourage you to attend our workshops, which are held on the 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month at 3 pm in the Annex. Whether you would like to read for a role in our play, or would be more interested in a non-acting, behind-the-scenes position, we offer many opportunities for you to be part of the theater world. Between now and February, the fun begins. (Who knows, Fireball shots may be available to get us moving!) We plan on holding an open casting by the end of this month, and we will have a synopsis of the play available to you prior to the auditions. E-Blasts and emails will be sent this month regarding the dates and times of the auditions. Also, flyers will be available on the rack outside of Kara's office. Rehearsals will begin after the Players Theater Group Variety show in October and thus will not conflict with their production. Please contact Greg Hill (951) 526-9896, Chuck Gordon (661) 714-3847, Ron Rodarte (951) 813- 5700, Dona Wurzel (760) 519-6475, or me if you have any questions. We look forward to having some new residents in our group! Lights! Camera! Action! Do not miss getting your ticket to The Colony Theater Production of The Colony's Got Talent II, Remember When? celebrating 50 years of television.
