Quilting Enthusiasts Hear Ye! Hear Ye! Calling all Quilters! If you wish to show a quilt or a quilted piece in the Four Seasons Quilting Enthusiasts Quilt Show, please contact Penny Key at 4seasonsquilters@gmail.com, or get an entry form at The Lodge. ANY resident may enter a quilt or quilted piece such as bed quilts, wall hangings, throws, table runners, quilted place mats, quilted garments and art quilts. Let your handiwork shine! You read it correctly — there is time to have your quilt displayed at the Four Seasons Second Quilt Show. You do not need to be a member of our group. I know that several of you have quilts that were made by yourselves, a parent, a friend, aunt, grandparent, or a great-grandparent. These quilts are all heirlooms and we invite you to share your precious heirlooms with the community at our show. The show is Sept. 10 from 10 am to 4 pm in the Ballroom. Shabby Rose Quilting and Sewing Cottage from Yucaipa will be vending at the show along with several of our residents. There isn't a cost to show your quilt, and they will be handled with extreme care. We will be raffling not just one quilt but two! Yes, you read that correctly - there are two! The ticket prices are $1 per entry. The quilt with the star in blues and measures 62" x 62" and is a stunning wall hanging! The lime green and blue quilt is equally stunning, and measures 83" x 89". Both quilt tops were donated to the Quilting Enthusiasts by David Robinson in honor of his late wife, Chris, who was an avid quilter. A special thank you to Carol Young, a resident of Four Seasons, and owner of Quilting Gardens, for the absolutely stunning machine quilting, and to Susan Hagerman for doing the binding (the finishing of the quilted edge) on both of these quilts! We look forward to seeing you on Sept. 10! ~ Mary M.
