62 FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | SEPTEMBER 2022 TOPS TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) members have continued to work at the healthy lifestyle contest called "Slow and Steady Wins the Contest." We are discovering that it does take a lot of persistent and careful effort as it did for our turtle mascot. The last four weeks had members out vacationing and "quarantining" with COVID. Being stuck inside made our healthy lifestyle living even more of a challenge. But we are all back now and anxious to try again. Our topics recently had us balancing on one foot to enhance our balance, reading about antioxidants, and changing excuses to positive affirmations This month's "Thinner Winner" was Pauline Smith, with Susan Wilson a close second. They lost the most weight. This happens with exercise, mindful eating, motivation, portion control, new recipes, and meeting attendance. Super job, you two! You may find that a group like TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) can help you as well. We meet on Tuesday at 8:30 am in the Ballroom. For more information, call Andi Henderson at (918) 497-6491. ~ Andi Henderson Bocce Club The Bocce Ball Club plays at The Summit on two courts overlooking the surrounding valley and beautiful mountains. We play on Tuesdays and Fridays at 8 am. With the summer weather, we try to finish by 9:30 am before the heat sets in. Umbrellas help a little with some shade. Hopefully we'll see you out there having some fun with a great group of people. If you are interested in learning the game, please join us. Any questions? Contact me at hanknegrete16@yahoo.com or call (909) 747-7087. ~ Hank Negrete Well here we go again! One of my fishing buddies got the virus. Looks like that stupid virus is going to put a real damper on fishing. At least this time the state is not shutting everything down. I am having a real hard time getting in the mood to go fishing. I guess father time is finally getting the best of me. I need to get a jump start to go fishing again. What it is going to take is my fishing friends to give me a call and tell me it is time to go fishing. One of my fishing friends bought some property out of state. He is there right now getting the place livable. He keeps calling me and telling me what a great time he is having fishing the waters in his new state. If I get off my dead rear end, I can drive five miles and catch some nice catfish. This has got to be the weirdest weather I have ever seen. Hot one day, cool the next. The monsoons keep rolling in, but it doesn't seem to want to rain in Beaumont. I know we will never see normal weather patterns again. You can time the great fishing by what the weather is going to be like. Herein lies the problem. Who knows what the weather is going to be like? I guess I just have to go fishing and see how lucky I am. Tight lines to all my fishing friends and remember, you can't catch fish if you stay home and worry about the weather. ~ Richard Carrasco Fishing Club Many members have spent time in COVID jail
